The Provincial Government has invested $17.4-million in the enhancement of cellular and broadband internet services in Northwestern Ontario.
Northern Development and Mines Spokesperson Randy McAllister says $2.8-million will go towards the expansion of K-net’s broadband service to 17-remote communities.
Red Lake will see funding to replace their current network with fibre optic cable.
McAllister says the funding will also be used to expand cell and broadband service along Highway 17 from Vermilion Bay to Thunder Bay.
