Close to 150 people filled the Red Lake Legion Saturday night for the inaugural Chukuni Business Awards presentation, featuring guest speaker Ron Buist, creator of Tim Horton’s “Roll Up The Rim To Win” contest.
The awards honoured the area’s best in seven categories:
Business Customer Service Excellence – winner: Forever Green; honourable mention: Lakeside Marina
Business of the Year Under 25 Employees – winner: Balmer Video; honourable mention: The Water Buffalo
Business of the Year Over 25 Employees – winner: Norseman Inn; honourable mention: Tim Horons
Business Supporting Youth – winner: Goldcorp Red Lake Gold Mines; honourable mention: Red Lake Outfitters
Citizen and/or Group of the Year – winner: Grace Community Church; honourable mention: Marion Whitton
Employee of the Year – winner: Linda Lesnick; honourable mention: Bob Uhrina
Home Based Business – winner: Jim’s Gun Shop; honourable mention: The Midnight Baker
