Red Lake Mayor Speaks Out on Bill C-300

Red Lake Mayor Phil Vinet calls Bill C-300 “ill-conceived, without foundation and holds no base”.
MP’s vote tonight (Wednesday) on the Private Member’s Bill that would allow anyone to submit a complaint against a Canadian mining company with little or no reason.
Vinet says the mining industry is a booming economic driver in Canada right now and notes we should be doing everything when can to encourage mining in our country.
He points out that about 80% of all mining companies in the world are headquartered in Canada.
He notes approving this Legislation would have a crippling effect on the industry, especially in Northwestern Ontario.
