A successful program implemented at St. John’s school in Red Lake is being expanded by the Kenora Catholic District School Board.
The board has just hired permanent substitute teachers for all of its schools.
Director of Education Phylis Eikre says they are trying the idea out as a pilot project.
Eikre says having one permanent substitute teacher on hand each day, provides some continuity and stability for both students and teachers.
