Red Lake Resident Reacts to Climate Talks

Progress, but still a long way to go!
That’s the feeling of the Red Lake branch of the Citizens Climate Lobby Group on the recent climate change talks in South Africa.
Spokesperson Christine Penner Polle says there was a bit of a breakthrough.
She is pleased with a legally-binding pact to limit greenhouse gases by 2020 that was reached at the Climate Change summit in South Africa.
Polle was hoping for a quicker deadline though.
She is also upset that Canada has pulled out of the Kyoto Protocol.
Polle says the move hurts efforts on climate change and stresses Canada’s reputation has now been tarnished.
She is challenging the Government to take immediate action.
