Housing Funding for Kashechewan

While the Federal Government and Attawapiskat remain miles apart on establishing a solid working relationship, another Northern Ontario First Nation is moving forward with the Feds.
Minister of Aboriginal Affairs John Duncan says they have taken an important step in implementing a 2007 agreement with Kashechewan.
The Government will provide $3.25-million over 2-years to allow the First Nation to make strides in addressing their housing shortage.
Kashechewan Chief Jonathan Solomon says they are glad to be moving forward and making progress on the Memorandum of Understanding they signed with Canada.
He adds the investment will create jobs and lead to quality homes for the people who need them.
