Red Lake Teacher Will Attend Book Launch

A Red Lake teacher will head to Toronto on Sunday for a province wide event.
Native Language teacher from St. John’s Catholic School Tom Doherty will attend the “Books of Life” launch by the Ontario Teacher’s Federation.
The book is an Aboriginal education awareness and initiative which tells the life stories of students from diverse school populations.
Students exchanged their books with other students from different schools, which helped them understand each other.
North Star Community in Atikokan and St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Kenora are also participated in the book.
The book launch is being held during the “Word on the Street Festival” at Queen’s Park Circle, which attracts about 200,000 people each year.
