The first and only composting facility in northwestern Ontario is set to open this Summer.
The Eco Depot facility will operate in Thunder Bay and is expected to receive 30,000 tonnes of organic waste annually.
Samantha Rizzo says they will accept food waste, bio-solids, diapers, yard waste, drywall, cardboard, wood waste and paper.
Rizzo says they are now looking to partner with area municipalities.
The Depot will operate year-round.
