Regional Flavour To New Colleges Ontario Chair

A man, with plenty of connections to northwestern Ontario, is the new chair of Colleges Ontario.

Don Lovisa will serve a two-year term for the Association, which represents Ontario’s 24 public colleges.

Lovisa worked for Confederation College in Fort Frances and Thunder Bay for twenty years.

He says he understands local concerns and is ready to represent the needs of the north.

Lovisa says the first order of business is to get in front of the new Education Minister and Deputy Minister and discuss the priorities moving forward for colleges.

He adds the face of the typical college student is changing as colleges are seeing more university grads enrolling in order to adapt to a changing economy.

Lovisa is now the President of Durham College.
