The establishment of memory clinics in various northern communities including Red Lake and Thunder Bay is being well received.
Dr. Linda Lee developed the Primary Care Memory Clinic and she says a number of individuals and groups have come together to offer the essential service.
Lee says implementing the program speaks volumes to the dedication of local health care providers, the Northwest Local Health Integration Network, Family Health Teams and the Alzheimer’s Society.
Anyone suffering from memory loss or showing signs of dementia can visit their physician and be referred to a special team.
The service is free of charge.
