The Northwestern Ontario All-Stars couldn’t hold on to a late 2-1 lead, losing 3-2 to the Thunder Bay Kings in the Bantam Playdowns Friday.
The Kings secured the win in overtime after scoring the tying goal with under 1:30 to play.
Game 2 of the Best of 3 Final is Saturday.
In the Midget Final, the Kenora Thistles shut down Thunder Bay 2-0 in the opening game.
They can wrap it up tomorrow with a win on the road.
The Northwestern Ontario Peewee All-Stars fell to Thunder Bay 2-0 in their opener.
