A regional retreat for young women is again a winner of the Aviva Community Fund contest.
The I Am Awesome (And I Know It) Self Esteem Retreat is the recipient of $38,000.
Director Rene Martin-Brown says the money will allow her to offer the retreat, at the Sunny Cove Camp near Fort Frances, for a fifth consecutive year.
The retreat also won funding in 2013.
Martin-Brown says the program is having a huge impact on young girls across northwestern Ontario.
She notes the money will allow her to bring in qualified educators and presenters to help women with leadership and confidence skills.
