Regional Union Official Upset With Bombardier Criticism

The top union official at the Bombardier plant in Thunder Bay is sending an open letter to what he calls angry Torontonians, irritated politicians and bias journalists.

Dominic Pasqualino says he’s upset with those people for the way they’ve been bashing the plant for its work on Toronto streetcars, without taking into consideration the hard work his members have been doing to meet the deadlines.

Pasqualino says they have faced a number of obstacles and will continue do so, but stresses they have improved dramatically.

He insists the consistent scrutiny and company bashing doesn’t just impact business, it hurts workers and their families,

Pasqualino explains it’s frustrating to hear his members are getting blamed for welding problems, noting they aren’t responsible for the troubles.

He hopes to complete the streetcar contract by the end of 2019.
