Damp conditions and cooler temperatures are letting firefighters get
control of the remaining 180 forest fires in Northwestern Ontario.
But about 400 evacuees from Long Lake and Gull Bay First Nations will
have to wait a while longer before they can go home.
Another 1,200 evacuees from Deer Lake and Sandy Lake reserves have
returned to their homes as the threat of fires diminished.
