Reminder Issued To Stop For School Buses

Police across the region are reporting an increase in complaints about motorists failing to stop for school buses when their lights are flashing and the safety arms are up.
They are stepping up enforcement.
OPP Constable Guy Beaudry says it can be a hefty fine for motorists who break the law.
If convicted drivers can face a fine of $490 plus six demerit points.
Beaudry says it’s important for witnesses who see such infractions to get the license plate number and a description of the driver to help police follow up.
