A new report by the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business is highlighting the success of Economic Development Corporations in Aboriginal communities in Ontario.
President JP Gladu says there was a mix of EDC’s with regards to the time they’ve been in existence and the number of employees.
When looking at the report, Gladu says it signals to the marketplace that these aboriginal communities are gearing up for business and future growth.
Another finding that Gladu points out is when it comes to the Board of Directors, it’s great to see that not only are community members involved but business directors are as well.
Over 130 communities were contacted and 62 EDC’s were identified. Out of those, 27 of them were interviewed.
