A Northern Ontario School of Medicine researcher is studying a deadly bacterial infection strain that impacts mostly only First Nations people.
Dr. Marina Ulanova says they’re trying to create a vaccine to prevent it.
Dr. Ulanova says they’ve been taking blood samples from urban aboriginal residents.
Ulanova says they’re looking at the samples for antibodies and hope to create a vaccine that will help stop the spread of the disease.
