Resolute Dealing With Shortage Of Workers

The ‘Help Wanted’ sign is out at Resolute Forest Products.

The company says it’s looking for more employees for its sawmills in Ignace and Atikokan.

President Richard Garneau says difficulties in trying to run a second shift forced the need to recruit.

Garneau says they’re actively recruiting and attending job fairs across the country.

He adds they are also targeting workers who left northwestern Ontario to work in the western provinces.

Garneau says they are also working out some equipment issues at the Atikokan planer mill and is hoping they will be resolved soon.
