Resolute Forest Products Closing Iroquois Falls Mill

Some 180 people in Iroquois Falls are losing their jobs three days before Christmas with the closure of the Resolute Forest Products newsprint mill.
The company has announced it will close the site permanently on December 22nd, after more than 100 years in operation.
In a press release issued, Resolute cited a downturn in the global paper market and pointed a finger at environmental groups for “ill-founded attacks” on the forestry industry.
The mill is the largest employer in the northern Ontario community.
