The Northern Ontario Tourist Outfitters Association believes a lobbying effort has resulted in the return of the GST rebate for foreign visitors.
The federal government cut the rebate program last year, but decided to bring it back in this year’s budget.
Doug Reynolds is the executive director of N.O.T.O. and says the rebate will only apply to out-of-country visitors who purchase a package to stay at a tourist resort.
