Rick Greaves

In loving memory of Rick Greaves, age 57 of Dryden, who passed away peacefully at the Dryden Regional Health Centre March 2, 2007 after a courageous battle with cancer. Rick was born and raised in Dryden completing his schooling here. Rick and his brother Wayne went to further their education in Southern Ontario, Rick remained there for 10 years and then returned to Dryden., Wayne stayed. After his return to Dryden, Rick went to work at our local Paper Mill where he stayed working as a Millwright until his early retirement in 2004. Family and friends were important to Rick. He was great at fixing things and enjoyed renovating his Duke St. home. Rick loved his gardening in the summer and Christmas lights in the winter. His favorite break was dancing and he could dance the night away. Rick is survived by his wife Debbie Greaves, son Chris (Christa) of Winnipeg, daughter Jen of Thunder Bay, mother Mary of Dryden, mother in law Doris Danielson of Dryden, sister Rossalyn (Brian) Valdock of Oxdrift, brother Wayne (Lily) of Collingwood, sister in law Joan (Steve) Fossey of Vermilion Bay. Grandchildren Stephen Greaves of Dryden, Rebecca and Noah Greaves of Winnipeg and his “granddogs” of Thunder Bay. Also left to mourn are a large extended family and friends. He will also be sadly missed by his faithful companions through his illness Taffy, Thumper & Jessie. Rick was predeceased by his son Sean in 2004 and his father Ted in 2006. Memorial Services for Rick Greaves will be held on Wednesday March 7, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Luke’s Anglican Church with Rev. Mary Mennell officiating. Interment of ashes at a later date.
