Right Wing Think Tank Out With High School Report Card

A failing grade for regional schools.
Secondary Schools ranked an average 4.5 in math and literacy in the latest Fraser Institute Report Card.
That’s compared to a provincial average of 6.0.
However, report author Peter Cowley says there are a couple bright spots.
Cowley says the top schools were Atikokan and St. Thomas Aquinas at 7.5 and 6.7 respectively.
He notes Dryden and Fort Frances schools have continued a downward trend.
There is little change in results at Red Lake and Queen Elizabeth in Sioux Lookout.
Cowley stresses there’s a lot of work that has to be done to improve the results.
