Riverside gets big chunk of funding

Riverside Health Care Facilities is getting a healthy cash injection from the province to help balance the books.

CEO Wayne Woods notes almost 680-thousand dollars will be used to help bring the three hospitals out of a deficit situation for this year and part of next year.

Woods notes Riverside had been facing a nearly 500-thousand dollar deficit prior to the recent government announcement.

Being a multi-site facility (Fort Frances, Emo and Rainy River), Woods adds the province doesn’t always recognize that fact when funding is released.
