Robert Gordon (Sonny) Gangloff

In loving memory of Robert (Sonny) Gordon Gangloff who passed away October 5, 2002 suddenly on a hunting trip with his son and grandson at Embryo Lake west of Red Lake. Sonny was born in Kenora, Ontario on October 17, 1928. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and loved spending time with all his family. Sonny retired from the Co-op store in Vermilion Bay in 1988 and loved his winters spent in Florida.

Predeceased by his parents, sister Elsie McLeod, brother Richard, brother-in-law Vaughan Malmstrom, and sister-in-law Georgina Lindquist. He leaves to mourn, his wife Doreen of 52 years. His six children, Leslie (Jim) Thomas, Virginia (Bob) Schultz, Jeanne (Jim) Calvert, Ronald (Joyce) Gangloff, Robert (Paula) Gangloff, and Valerie (John) Kitt. Ten Grandchildren; Kevin (Sheri) Calvert, Nikki Calvert, Paula (Sam) Johnson, John (Nancy) Schultz, Scott Schultz, Bradley and Morgan Gangloff, Chris and Alyssa Kitt, and Jonathon Gangloff. Four Great Grandchildren; Alex and Rowan Calvert, Megan and Bryan Johnson, Bryn Schultz. His sister Gertrude Berg; Uncle Louis Kaufman; brother’s-in-law Doug McLeod, and Joel Lindquist; Sister and brother-in-laws Jo-ann and Lee Moore. And special friends Mae and Bob McLeod, and Lana and Rick Letkeman all of Winnipeg. Many nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2002 from 11:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m. at the Vermilion Bay United Church. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, October 10, 2002 at 2:00 with Mr. Ren Amel officiating. Cremation to follow and interment of ashes at a later date.

If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of their choice through the Dryden Community Funeral Home, 249 Grand Trunk AVE., Dryden, On P8N 2X3.
