Ronald was born on November 20, 1944 in Arnprior, Ontario and was raised in that area until moving to Sioux Lookout in 1956. He commenced employment at the Dryden Paper Mill in 1967. In 1968 he met Susan in Dryden, and they were married in Thunder Bay on October 3, 1969. Together they had two sons, Phil and Steven. In 1998 their nieces Tancy, Chelsey, and Kasey joined their immediate family as well. Living in the Dryden area for about 25 years Ron was employed in the forestry industry for a number of years, subsequently working for the City of Dryden for the past 17 years. He enjoyed living life to the fullest, enjoying the company of others. His family was first and foremost to him, and spending time with grandchildren Stephanie and Heath was the ultimate. In his leisure time Ron enjoyed playing golf, and his coffee club hours spent with friends at the Husky were a real pleasure to him. His love of older vehicles, restoring them especially his 1969 oldsmobile cutlass convertible, were a real pleasure and pride for him. Ron had a good outlook on life and his positive outlook is certainly evident in his family who are proud of all he did and stood for. He passed away in Dryden on October 24, 2003. Ron was predeceased by his parents and a sister. He is survived by his loving wife Susan, sons Phil (Amy) of Ear Falls, Steven (Colleen) of Dryden, grandchildren Stephanie and Heath. Also mourning his loss are his brother Wayne (Pat) of Sioux Lookout, and Tancy, Chelsey, and Kasey, at home. A Memorial Service for Ronald J.
