Rotary Honours Community Volunteers

Three of the founding members of the Dryden Mayor’s Committee for Children and Youth have been honoured by the Rotary Club.
Barb Buffet, Lynn Carlson and Susan Schultz received Paul Harris Fellowship awards last night.
The award is handed out yearly for community involvement.
Buffet says it’s so important that the children feel a part of the community and notes the emphasis was ensuring children walked away with positive memories.
Buffet stresses their goal was ensuring every child had a chance at participating in any leisure activity.
Carlson says their work couldn’t happen without the support of other community organizations.
She notes 100% of the money raised through grants and donations goes to the children.
The Mayor’s Committee for Children and Youth was established over 13-years ago and has since merged with Neighbourhood Legacy.
The Rotary Club also honoured Gerrie Noble for his work with the Dryden Historical Society.
Rotary members receiving awards include Joanne Bunney (Second Fellowship award), Ed Iskra, Rena Madden (Second Fellowship award), Andrew Misner and Joanne Misner (Third Fellowship award).
