A humbling experience!
That’s what a regional member of the Rotary Shelter Box program is calling a trip to Bangladesh to help in flood relief efforts.
Claire Noseworthy says the hardest part is returning home and questioning “why was I born in Canada, while these poor souls suffer without a safety net”.
She notes it’s worthwhile to help individuals who don’t have the supports that we do.
Noseworthy says the focus was to establish centres geared towards women and children, noting they have been traumatized from the ordeal.
