Rowe back in court

A judge is expected to rule today on the reliability of witnesses and the nature of consent in the sexual abuse case against former Anglican priest Ralph Rowe.

The ruling will be made in a Kenora courtroom.

Rowe is charged with seven counts of indecent assault and five counts of sexual assault.

Five complainants allege they were abused as boys in the 1970s and ’80s in remote First Nations communities in northern Ontario, where Rowe served as an Anglican minister and boy scout master.

The 67-year-old Surrey, B-C native pleaded guilty at the start of the trial in May to 20 charges involving 20 other victims.
