Safety Tips in Time for Winter Season

The Dryden Fire Service is taking steps to ensure that this winter is a safe one for area residents.
Firefighters are reminding homeowners to have their chimney and wood burning appliances inspected.
Emergency Education Officer Reagan Breeze says consistent monitoring is also critical.
Breeze recommends that you clean your chimney often to prevent creosote build-up.
Homeowners should also clean the area around the stove of debris, decorations and flammable material.
The reminder comes after 2-recent fires involving wood burning appliances, one of which consumed a building and its contents.
