Sandy Lake Man Charged In Thunder Bay Incident

A Sandy Lake man has been arrested for a string of crimes in Thunder Bay.

Police received several reports Saturday afternoon of a man striking vehicles with an apparent metal pipe.

Officers witnessed the accused hitting a van with the object and demanded he drop the pipe.

Police say the suspect refused and instead walked toward officers.

He was taken into custody after a brief struggle.

Thunder Bay Police later learned a woman had been attacked by the accused while at a stop light, damaging her vehicle.

Police say 47 year old Douglas Dale Kakekagumick faces four counts of mischief under $5,000 and one count of assault with a weapon.
