Kenora-Rainy River MPP Sarah Campbell is adding her voice against a proposal to charge a fee when crossing the Canadian-American border.
The idea of the fee was included in the 2014 budget for the U-S Department of Homeland Security.
Campbell doesn’t think it will pass, noting both Americans and Canadians benefit from an “open border” policy.
Meantime, a U-S politician for the border city of Buffalo, New York says it won’t happen.
Congressman Brian Higgins tells C-T-V’s “Question Period” there’s no way it would become reality because both Democrats and Republicans oppose it.
