The Keewatin Patricia District School Board has high
hopes for it’s students in 2006-2007.
The curriculum implementation and professional
development plan outlines five areas the board would like
to improve on.
Superintendent of Education Wendy Wiedenhoft says one of
the areas is literacy.

The board would like to see 60-65% of grade 3 students
achieve at a level 3 or 4 on EQAO Reading and Writing
tests.
70% of Grade 6 students are expected to achieve a 3 or 4
reading level, while in Writing the board hopes to see 55-
60% of students at levels 3 or 4.
