The Chief Financial Officer of the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board says a balanced budget is expected to be adopted with what he calls reasonable adjustments to the salary budget.
The announcement comes as many Southern Ontario school boards pass deficit budgets.
Under provincial law, trustees who pass a deficit budget can be fined five thousand dollars and banned from holding public office for five years.
Dean Carrie says although their books are in check, there is growing concern about losing future funding from the province because of declining enrolment.
The budget is expected to be adopted during a special board meeting July 23rd.
