The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board says it’s going to have to
overhaul its school closure policy to meet new Provincial regulations.
Currently, the Board can identify a School for closure in September
and decide by March if it should be closed or not.
Now, School Boards have to give at least 12-months notice before
shutting down a facility.
Superintendent of Business Dean Carrie says Trustees are being asked
to fill out a questionnaire indicating what criteria should be used to
determine if a School should be closed.
