Schreiber Man Banned From Hunting For 2-Years

A hunting trip in the Quibell area has resulted in a hefty fine for a Schreiber man.

Michael Souliere has been ordered to pay $5,000 for trespassing, shooting from a roadway and abandoning a deer and allowing it to spoil.

Conservation officers responded to a complaint on the TIPS line last November about a man shooting from a roadway at a deer on private property.

An investigation found that Souliere fired three shots from Highway 609, killing a deer in an area that was clearly marked with a “no shooting” sign.

Court heard he left the scene without collecting the animal.

He has been banned from hunting for two years.
