The writing may be on the wall for the Experimental Lakes area near Dryden, but that’s not stopping one scientist from her campaign to keep the outdoor laboratory open.

She is asking local municipalities to work with her to ensure the ELA remains open.
The federal government has flatly refused any suggestions to keep the ELA open and is planning the shut it down at the end of March 2013, if no other agency comes forward to operate it.
