The Board of the Northwestern Health Unit hopes to announce the
appointment of a new Medical Officer of Health before the end of this year.
Dr. Pete Sarsfield is retiring at the end of the this month and the
Health Unit has spent several months searching for his replacement.
Last week, a committee set up by the Health Unit conducted interviews
with a couple of candidates.
Chair Gerry O’Leary says even if their preferred candidate accepts the
job, the Province still has to formally approve the appointment.
