Secret Path Film Coming To Dryden

Gord Downie’s animated film, The Secret Path, is coming to Dryden.

The film, depicting the story of young Chanie Wenjack, who died when walking home from a Residential School in Kenora in 1966, will be shown next Tuesday at the Centre.

Event organizer Patty Vann was guest on the CKDR Morning Show Friday to promote the event.

She says doors will open at 6:15, with a display of Residential Schools that were in our area.

Vann says the showing will start at 7:00.

A $5 donation is suggested for admission but not necessary to attend.

The feature will also be shown at the High School.

Vann says the event is a group effort between Treaty 3, Eagle Lake First Nation, Wabigoon Lake Ojibway First Nation, the City of Dryden, Dryden High School, the Dryden Native Friendship Centre, the Centre and MacPrint.
