Provincial Police in Red Lake are concerned with the amount of drinking and driving charges they have laid.
Sergeant Kelly Hall mentions the last few weeks have been particularly bad.
Hall suggests that motorists don’t seem to be getting the message about the dangers of impaired driving.
Hall says penalties and fines can result in thousands of dollars lost, and having your license revoked.
She stresses there’s also hidden costs, with potential impacts to family and employment.
She also says if you spot anyone who seems to be driving under the influence, you are urged to inform police.
