The Canadian Cancer Society is out with some tips to stay cool this weekend.
Michelle St. Pierre says finding ways to block the strong sun from entering your home is key.
If you don’t have air conditioning in your home, St. Pierre says keep the sun out as much as possible by drawing your blinds and closing your windows during the day while only opening them at night.
St. Pierre adds you should always avoid the midday sun if possible and delay any outdoor activities until the evening hours when it becomes a bit cooler.
She says if you find it hot, your pets will too and that’s why you shouldn’t take your dog for a walk in the middle of the day or bring them in your car.
