Services Board Budget Encouraging

The new budget for the Kenora District Services Board is encouraging for both the board and municipalities.
The KDSB has approved an operating budget of more than 29 million dollars in the coming year, up more than 700-thousand from last year.
Chief Administrator Sten Lif says the money will be earmarked mostly for Ontario Works and child care projects.
Lif says since costs have been contained, municipalities will not have to pay the board as much this year.
He adds the KDSB is also looking forward to operating a full year without continued provincial downloading.
