A 33-year-old Big Trout Lake police officer is facing a number of charges in connection with a disturbance in the remote community last weekend.
OPP say an on-duty officer, while at a home on a non-police matter, struck a man repeatedly on the side of the head with a shoe and attempted to hit a woman with an electric fan.
During the incident, the officer allegedly tossed a chair through a window and attempted to use a police vehicle to strike the man as he left on a snowmachine.
No one was seriously hurt.
The female officer faces several charges including assault and mischief.
Incidently, she was working her last shift as an officer with the Big Trout Lake Police.
