Sewage Treatment Plant Update

One big headache is gone for the Director of Public Works and Engineering in Dryden.
Design issues and foundation problems with the pumping station have finally been resolved at the new Sewage Treatment Plant and the City is ready to move forward with construction.
Mike Louttit says construction of the pumping station is expected to begin in early September and the total project is scheduled to be completed before next Spring.
Louttit notes the project is over budget and the exact amount isn’t known at this time.
He says the City will be on the hook for some of the cost overruns.
The other costs relate to problems with the pumping station and Louttit stresses those costs will be picked up by the contractor.
