Shaw Cable has increased its presence in Northwestern Ontario as
the Calgary based company has tentatively acquired Norcom
Telecommunications.
Shaw will take over operatons in Kenora, Red Lake, Sioux Lookout, Ear
Falls, Ignace as well as CJBN-TV in Kenora.
President Peter Bissonnette says they are excited about the
opportunities in this Region.

Bissonnette says Red Lake is just off their network but he expects no
major problems to get the area on-line.
A majority of Norcom staff are expected to make the switch to Shaw
however no official announcement has been made.
