Shaw Communiciations is now the leading Telecommunications provider
in Northwestern Ontario.
The Calgary based company has acquired Norcom operations in Kenora,
Sioux Lookout, Red Lake, Ignace and Ear Falls, pending CRTC approval.
President Peter Bissonnette says the move makes sense given their
presence in Dryden, Fort Frances, Atikokan and Thunder Bay.

A majority of Norcom staff are expected to keep their jobs however no
official announcement has been made.
