Sick? You May Not Need A Note To Miss Work

The Ontario government wants to do away with doctor’s notes.

Employers, who now request them when a worker is away sick, will be prohibited from doing so next year, pending approval of new labour laws before Queen’s Park.

Health Minister Eric Hoskins says this will free up doctors to treat patients who really need their care.

Hoskins says employers will still be permitted to ask for a note if the worker has been away for more than ten days.
