A new look and a new name for Handi Transit in Sioux Lookout.
A white bus has been secured and is on the road, with 11-seats and the capacity for two wheelchairs.
The service is now called ‘Hub Transit’, with a tag-line of ‘Building a Better Community, Sioux Lookout, Hub of the North’.
Board Chair John Bath says they selected the name and tag-line to reflect the new direction the service is taking as well as compliment the current branding of the Municipality.
Handi Transit service may also soon be expanding.
Bath says starting on Monday, they expect to begin running their service five days a week, instead of three.
There are also plans to establish a regular route system, where members of the public will also be able to flag down the driver for transportation if it’s safe.
Bath notes they will still maintain their call-in system.
