It’s a great month for anglers across northwestern Ontario.
The Sioux Lookout Walleye Weekend is this weekend with 75 teams, while the Tbaytel Walleye Masters is set for next weekend.
Dryden event Co-Chair John Butts was a guest on the CKDR Morning Show Friday and he announced they will be handing out roughly $70,000 in cash and prizes.
The winner walks away with roughly $30,00 in cash and prizes.
Butts says they have 135 confirmed teams as well as a waiting list.
He stresses the organizing committee has done an outstanding job in preparation and he is promising an exciting weekend.
There will be Big Fish prizes on the Saturday and Sunday as well as a special prize for youth who are competing in the tournament.
Butts says they have made a strong effort to encourage more teens to join a family member or an adult friend.
Volunteers are still needed.
