The proposed SIJHL franchise in Thief River Falls, Minnesota is one-step closer to reality.
The team has reached a lease agreement with the City to play out of the state-of-the-art Ralph Englestadt Arena for the 2016-2017 season.
Thief River Falls still needs Hockey Canada approval and that’s expected to come down next month.
Former Dryden GM Ice Dogs trainer Kevin McCallum is part of the ownership group and he will serve as general manager and director of hockey operations for the team.
McCallum says they believe council and the entire city are behind the team and want to see them be successful both on and off the ice.
