The SIJHL is getting ready for the “Border Battle”.
The first league All-Star game since 2007-2008 is Wednesday in the U.S. hockey hotbed of Eveleth, Minnesota.
Commissioner Brian Graham says they are excited for the event and for what will be a competitive game pitting Team Canada and Team U.S.A.
Players will be wearing and keeping special jersey’s, created by Michael Hughes from Omaha, Nebraska and a member of the Thief River Falls Norskies, with input from Brian Graham.
Everyone involved will get a tour of the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame.
There will also be a Skills competition before the actual game.
Seven members of the Dryden GM Ice Dogs and five players from the English River Miners will be taking part.
They leave for Eveleth Tuesday morning.
